The Soonsun housing is similar to that of the GoPro camera, except that it has an open slot for wired connections such as an external microphone; that was the main reason for my purchase. The GoPro camera shield is great from all angles, but it somewhat drowns out the camera's internal microphone. The Soonsun Protective Case solves this problem when you want to add an external microphone while protecting your camera. A nice touch from Soonsun is the addition of a protective rubber cap for this part of the lens, which can prevent scratches when storing the camera in a bag. Another nice thing is that Soonsun offers this property in multiple colors; I chose blue.
