Order half a size larger.
Our 14 year old LOVES them, he didn't take them off! I swear he would sleep in it if he could! I thought they would run a little tighter with all the padding as a state shoe, but they're still a little smaller than I expected. Had 12.5 been available would have ordered it. 12 doesn't appear to be any taller than the 11.5 shoes he previously wore.
