I must confess that until recently no one could convince me to consider anything other than HID when it came to headlamp upgrades. But after a few blown fuses, a few bad ballasts, and blown bulbs, I decided to give LED a try, largely due to the overwhelming amount of positive feedback. I still think HID is the best choice when maximum brightness is required, but the new LED technology competes with some of the brightest HIDs. They're also plug-and-play because they don't require bulky high-voltage ballasts and cumbersome wiring harnesses commonly found in HID kits. Some of them even claim to be totally waterproof. Please note, however, that due to the somewhat bulky cooling fan, depending on the version, sufficient space is required behind the headlight housing. I recommended investing in a good set of LEDs, just like HID; Their longevity largely depends on the quality of their craftsmanship. There are different styles and capacities, so explore and choose wisely. But for now, based on my experience, you won't be disappointed.
