Review on Delmera Emergency Lightweight Waterproof Drawstring by Luis Despain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So, I actually used that. It works, but there are some limitations.

I decided to use this to see how it is. I spent part of last night outside, at home, using only this and my pajamas for warmth (and a pillow). The temperature was around 60F - not very cold but this is California and I can't control the weather! This bag works, but there are a few things to consider. a little wet. It's essentially a 3" x 6.5" Mylar bag with a silver interior and an orange exterior. As this is a mylar bag it is not breathable - there is no ventilation inside. Your body constantly sheds small amounts of water, even when you're not actively sweating. After an hour and a half, a layer of condensed water formed inside the bag, making it look wet everywhere I touched it. After use, you need to air it out to dry. Third, it has no way of narrowing the hole, so you have to wrap it around yourself to keep warm. Folding back to fit in a tiny nylon storage bag is very frustrating and requires a lot of patience. Your body emits a lot of hearing through your head. Always wear a hat when using - you will get warmer. The bag itself appears to be quite rigid. It will take some abuse but I think branches etc will tear it apart fairly quickly. The seam tape appears to be quite tight.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • So far so good
