Review on 🐢 Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Lil' Bites Itty Bitty Beef Recipe Small Breed Dog Food, 7 oz. Bag (Chicken) - Premium Nutrition for Small Dogs by Nancy Russell

Our dog likes it though.

Due to the latest DCM news and a possible connection to peas, beans and potatoes I switched to Lil Bites from Stella & Chewy. I fed our 15lb Chihuahua mix Castor & Pollux Organix Tiny Feasts, 4 Recipe Rotation and Castor & Pollux Organix Grain Free Small Breed Dry. All contain various combinations of peas, pea protein, sweet potatoes, potatoes, chickpeas. On the plus side, our dog loves it. She is not motivated by food, she only eats when she feels like it. Some days she ate all her food, some days she didn't. I divide the daily portion into three parts as I feed her 3 times a day. She cleared every plate. I added water to each serving. I love the fact that it contains organic fruits and veggies and has no controversial ingredients. Cons: It's called Lil Bites but the pieces are too big for my girl. I've included a photo of Lil Bites, a piece of dried Castor & Pollux, and a piece of raw Castor & Pollux chicken. When I add water to Lil Bites, I wait until they're a little soft and cut them into smaller pieces. I appreciate the protein content but wish the chicken was organic. In the Q&A section, someone asked how many cups you get out of a 7 ounce bag and S&C's answer was about 8 cups. Um, not even close. I measured just over 5 cups out of my pocket. That's a big difference, only 4 daily servings versus 6.4. I also get the feeling that after eating she is still hungry and looking for more, which I never saw when I fed her Castor & Pollux products. Cook homemade food for our former fur baby (recipe formulated by Dr. Justin Schmalberg). I've tried again to avoid comfort food, but looks like I'm going back to it. I had a nutritional consultation with my vet and am just waiting to get my BalanceIt supplement. I'll be buying another bag of Lil Bites in the meantime and I think I'll add it to the rotation as it has good ingredients, although I also prefer to be organic.
