7 " DOT Approved Black LED Headlights with White Halo Ring - Black

Purchased for a 2012 Jeep JK. I really like their look but they weren't ready to go yet. These lights have a thicker glass cover so they protrude further from the grille and extend much lower behind the grille beyond the factory lights. You need an adapter to work and it seems to be of decent quality. They do NOT have an external anti-flicker module like some lamps, so hopefully they are built in as advertised. The absence simplifies the wiring since you don't have to consider the module, additional wiring and converter. Has a simple socket for DRL. Separate wire for DRLs, but the DRLs turn on automatically when the headlights are on (no choice), so you only need to connect them when the headlights are off. Or, if you don't need DRLs, they go well together so you can just omit them. According to the seller, there is no lens for the left or right side, they can be installed on both sides. Pros: I used the regular fakes that Revain has with DRL. So I can compare them to factory and regular fakes. The fakes were a big improvement over the factory low beam, the high beam was nothing special but after less than a year the DRLs started flickering so I decided to try something else and settled on these. So compared to fakes a slightly brighter low beam, a significantly brighter high beam and compared to the factory a huge improvement. They look great when installed, but if you want to do without chrome, you might want to replace the headlight replacement ring. Cons: Poor instructions, but usually not a difficult install. One of the flashlights I received had a chewed up wiring box. I decided to use it anyway. It wasn't fun installing them. They didn't fit the factory headlight bracket on my 2012 Jeep JK. These headlights have ribs on the back as well as other parts that protrude outwards and they don't quite match the factory or other non-original headlights I have (see seller's side photo and you can see them by the edges see black). . The factory bracket has cutouts for mounting tabs on the back of the lights. The tabs on the back of the lights did not fit into the mounting cutouts and the center mounting cutout was too small to fully seat the light. He just turned around. I couldn't even force it if I wanted to as the locking ring wouldn't make contact with the mount. I emailed the seller, his reply was "needs some trimming". Trim what? That just shouldn't have happened with my factory mount and locking ring. I was lucky enough to have a different set of headlight brackets on hand (slightly shallower notches) and deeper snap rings. I did a quick test fit and they mostly match these stock parts, not perfect but close. I had to cut out the factory brackets (they didn't want to come out), put in new non-original brackets. Another trial fit and some internal plastic behind the headlight in the grill prevented them from sitting perfectly in the top right corner of both lights. Couldn't find exactly what they suggest for anything. After a lot of fiddling I had just enough to sell and secure and as an added bonus they ended up being a little lower so I didn't have to adjust the headlight beam. So morally if this story looks good bright but not sure how long it will last. When they showed up I was very happy with them. I pulled the sprockets off as they were NOT ready to work with factory mounts and didn't come close to working with my stock mount and snap ring. If I didn't have these replacement parts it would be a return.
