On the thin side... in my opinion
My granddaughter is a petite and very slim 8 year old girl, tall for her age, most size 7 or 8 are a bit big but good enough to wear, this size 7/8 was very tight and stretchy but if it is so was too much stretched, the stripes would probably look weird, I would order a size up if possible.

- The dress may be too long for younger girls which may cause them to trip or get tangled.
