I bought this toy for my twin granddaughters because the colors were so pretty and the animal was so cute! Most importantly, the product description contained complete information confirming the absence of any harmful materials or chemicals that could harm my grandchildren. I sent it to my address so I could take it and other gifts with me when I went to my daughter's home for Christmas. Pretty fast delivery, I received it yesterday and when I took it out of the box I was shocked by the size and color of this toy! The peacock is a lot bigger than I expected and the beautiful colors surpass any child's toy I've ever seen. He is great! I realized I couldn't just bring one for my granddaughters so I checked the Lamaze website and found Fifi the Firefly. Not sure if Fifi will be as tall as Jacque, I'm sure the colors will be great. While the peacock is broad and the firefly is long, the reviewer wrote that at 4 months of age she found it easier to handle the long toy. My grandchildren will be 5 months by Christmas so I think the different sizes of each toy in length and width will be an advantage for them as they learn how to manage both. As they live in the south I'm hoping we have warmer days when I can use the ring on each toy to attach the toys to their twin pram. Besides the size and color of Jacques; Each "feather" segment contains various stimulating surfaces such as mirrored, crumpled, silky, puffy, knitted, as well as a face with large embroidered eyes and a cute conical nose. On the back of the peacock there are different black and white patterns on each of the faces: stripes, dots, triangles and rectangles. In addition to visual and tactile stimulation, there is also a rattle for sound stimulation. I am very glad that the toy has such opportunities for children's development. I highly recommend this Lamaze product. When I come back after Christmas I will post information about children's interactions with Lamaze products, particularly Fifi's fireflies, which I haven't received yet. Therefore, these comments are published in the Fifi review. However, I have high hopes for both!
