My 4 year old had so much fun with this toy. I was immediately struck by the durability of the eggs and the box they are kept in. My son spent quite a bit of time taking them apart and putting them back together. This helped him practice counting, recognizing colors and shapes, and the dexterity of his fingers in putting them together. He also took it to his play kitchen and used it in that capacity quite a bit over the past week. He even tried to show my 1 year old how to put them back together. I think this toy will continue to grab his attention due to the quality of the item and will last for our youngest son. I like to play a little prank on them and hide these eggs in the yard at Easter.
