The first time really hurts

I have some doubts about this product (and I think about epilators in general). I used to try an epilator, an old model, and it was VERY painful, so I decided to just shave. But the years went by and I got tired of shaving and I got tired of the wasteful work of constantly shaving heads. I chose this product because with all its interchangeable parts and rotating head it seems to be better than most other epilators. As expected, it hurt a lot the first time. At first I tried it dry and it was unbearable. My leg hair is thick and felt like I was being stung all over my body. I stopped and decided to try the shower. First, I exfoliated my legs with a body scrub and took some time in the shower so the steam could really open my pores and soften my skin. The pain wasn't that bad but still quite bothersome and I think I have a pretty high pain tolerance. In the shower it was bearable in small areas at once. In any case, you have to pull the skin very tightly, otherwise it kind of sticks to the skin and doesn't really pull the hair out. I was a bit surprised that it didn't feel like baby smooth after this, it took several passes before it felt smooth. It took about an hour for both legs. I definitely have red dots all over my body, but my skin isn't very irritated. I then apply a medicated moisturizer and my legs are pretty smooth. I just hope that it actually makes my leg hair grow thinner and slower. It was worth it. Otherwise I would have wished for a quick and painless shave. UPDATE: The redness and irritation was completely gone within 24 hours, although it got worse before it got better. It's been a few days and my legs are still smooth with tiny hairs growing here and there. This is unbelievable for me. As I said before, my hair is very thick and literally grows back 12 hours after shaving. To go a few days and still stay smooth is amazing!
