Review on Sony MiniDV Digital Handycam Camcorder DCRHC65 with 10x Optical Zoom (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Bill Wieser

My first impressions of the HC65 are generally very positive. I like the feel and balance, and the controls are nicely laid out. The 3.5 inch LCD is very good and the touchscreen is good too, it's quite intuitive and only requires a light touch, minimizing camera movement during recording. I first tried shooting outdoors, near the sunset, and got great results. in simple mode. Focus and exposure adjust very quickly and create a good image. The colors are bright and the picture is clear. and also displays the focusing distance on the LCD. The zoom works fairly well, the speed is easy to control, and the button is well placed, although I wish it was a little over 10x. 10X should be enough for most applications and I would recommend a telephoto adapter and tripod if you need extra zoom.
