For me, this pillow is suitable for camping. And it's wonderful! It folds into a very small lightweight package, the pillow actually packs away on its own. Being shredded memory foam, it packs very well, very easily and quickly. In my experience, the pillow puffs up fairly quickly after opening, within 15 minutes the pillow is ready to use. Yes, very comfortable! I slept well with a pillow, nothing hurt, I might even become my favorite at home! I really didn't have any problems with the "memory foam smell" either. The pillow just smelled fresh, clean, new right out of the box.
