Review on ๐Ÿšฝ TOTO THU068#CP Trip Lever For St743S in Chrome: Ultimate Accessory for a Sleek Bathroom Upgrade by Justino Pratama

Although the parts are mismatched and proprietary, you CAN make it work.

Unfortunately, I doubt I'll buy a Toto toilet again. It's one thing to have parts that break (see below) but when a required component is "too small" to prevent using OEM parts (bug. Encourage you to buy genuine parts ) and even IF you buy an original part, it still doesn't work properly. .Simply amazing.Problem. I personally have a pair of Toto Drake CST743S toilets from 2006 and as others have said the metal handle is connected to the metal lever with a PLASTIC tube which is held in place by a PLASTIC nut. When a PLASTIC nut is tightened onto a PLASTIC pipe, it creates a pressure point that can break over time. This happened to me a few days ago. Bought a set of original handles said to be designed for Toto toilets but the 'square piece' was 'too big' to fit through the 'square hole' on the side of the cistern. When I called Toto to ask why this was, they told me it was to encourage us to buy genuine parts. Sent the OEM pens back to Revain and ordered the original. Through the mirror with the official original Toto THU068 in my hands, I connected it to the toilet. .and it didn't work. Surprisingly, while the first grip had about 13-14 "chain links" to move the shock, the new grip needed at least 20. (?!) After changing the chain length, I found that the problem was still there. with the arm NOT EXACTLY the same shape/angle/etc. I pulled the parts from another toilet to compare: the two 2006 parts were (obviously) identical, while the 2018 parts appeared to be from an alternate reality where everything was a little different, including the toilet handles. I was contemplating getting some pliers and a hammer to reshape the 2018 hand to better suit my 2006 era hands when I realized that most likely everything has changed EXCEPT the plastic parts , as it is the weak link that fails will never change. Solution Yes. The metal parts may have changed, but the plastic parts are actually the same twelve years later. Parts kept: - handle 2006 - lever parts replaced in 2006 - plastic tube part 2018 (since one broke in 2006) - plastic nut 2018 (since I lost one in a shuffle in 2006) - 2018 screw (why not?) - 2018 tiny piece of metal that holds the metal lever in the plastic tube holds (etc.). So I bought an original 2018 THU068 for $20, threw away the grip and lever, and just replaced the plastic parts with the (broken) parts from my original 2006 grip. Bring chain length back to where it was before - FIXED!
