I really wanted this to work for my kittens to keep track of less litter and I had some time to give him enough time but it wasn't for our house. They actually tracked more when they jumped the mat. The holes may be too big because their paws couldn't walk on them comfortably; Therefore, instead of stepping on them, they jumped over it and threw garbage everywhere. Also, after a while, I noticed that even with regular weekly cleaning, trapped bacteria on bits of carpet fabric allowed mold to form on the carpet itself, which also caused unpleasant odors. I ended up just throwing it in the trash can. I ended up buying a cheaper vinyl rug from Petco and had no issues with tracking, growth, or odor.
