Great compact camera with very good low-light performance!

After purchasing the Nikon D5000 12.3MP DX DSLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens and 2.7" Tilting LCD, I didn't take it because it was big too, and when I realized I'm not a professional photographer I sold it, relying solely on my iPhone 4 for my camera. It was fine for a while, but the iPhone 4's camera was too slow, cumbersome to use, and the image quality was okay but poor in low light. Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS Digital Elph is just what I needed! It's tiny, fast, looks tight and takes really good pictures. Importantly, it's not afraid of the dark thanks to its f/2.0 aperture and backlit sensor, so it works very well in low light, making party photos look more natural and not extremely bright subject/dark. the background you get when you use Flash. It's amazing how dark a room can appear to your eyes, and the SD4000 captures images that look much brighter, even if the image becomes noisy and grainy when zoomed in. Of course, my old Nikon D5000 took much more detailed and ultra-smooth pictures. , even in low light, but now I feel like the best camera is the one you have with you, and that camera isn't bad at all. Features I love about the SD4000 IS: - low light performance - 240 fps slow motion mode - 720p HD video with stereo sound - 8.4 fps burst shooting - HDMI output - nice body with grippy texture - mine was made in Japan ( wow!) I understand the new SD4500IS came out with 10x zoom, 1080p resolution and a dedicated video button, minus the f/2.0 lens (thanks to the guy who updated his review!), but I liked it simply how the SD4000 looks better and cheaper. And it has an f/2.0 lens. Well I've already placed my order and I'm too lazy to exchange it. If I were to add something it would be a dedicated video button and the HDR capability, which is all the rage right now. Overall, the SD4000 IS has good image quality, is compact and very easy to use. it goes from 3/3 bar to a flashing 1/3 bar "low" without warning. It's like a fuel gauge that goes from full to empty without any intermediate steps. I would like it as a percentage. On the other hand, videos captured in low light play fine on the camera but are almost completely dark when played back on my Mac or even my PC, but it could be a monitor setting. Still happy.
