Review on πŸŽ’ Columbia Unisex Mazama Backpack: A Versatile Collegiate Daypack with Casual Style by Ronald Orear

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely worthy of the Columbia name.

I'm surprised by the mixed reviews of this backpack. I use this backpack every day for 6 weeks. Our son is hospitalized for a bone marrow transplant and this is the bag I used to carry things between home and the hospital. This is a simple and lightweight backpack with no frills. I don't like frills or lots of dividers in backpacks so this is perfect for me. There is one thing I wish every backpack, including this one, had a large water bottle holder for. The ones in this bag fit a standard 16 ounce bottle easily, but I really wish one of them could hold a hydroflask. I digress, but I'm sticking with a 5 star rating for anyone who does. Another thing this bag doesn't have that I really like is the chest strap. For everyday use and a light bag, this isn't an essential feature, but I would definitely prefer it. Also, the fabric is the thickness of a thicker Jansport and is of good quality in my opinion. The zippers slide very well and have not broken or snagged in 6 weeks of daily use. The front pocket is my preferred size. It's big enough for your wallet, phone, keys, and AirPods, but not so big that you can't find anything. Overall, this bag is definitely worthy of the Columbia brand.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
