A very useful educational toy.

I wanted this pie specifically for my son because he loves seeing 'Backyards' and I told him it was 'Big Pie'. He likes to think of this cake in this context. I use this cake along with math flashcards to teach him how to add and subtract. The cake was bigger than I expected and each counter is the size of one of those big bunches you find in a grocery store. My son scattered them all over the floor and I was usually afraid they would end up in the heating ducts, but the pieces are big enough not to go through the grilles. The pieces are large but they still fit in a small mouth so I will be keeping very young children in mind with this toy. I love how you can use the top of the cake to toss all the pieces in so they don't roll away while you use the bottom for sorting or counting games. This article is very useful, I recommend it to every child whose parents are either homeschooled or trying to help their children practice their basic skills at home.
