I don't know why Yankee Candles decided to drastically reduce and sometimes eliminate odors in their candles. They were known for their consistently strong scents that wafted throughout the house, but no more. I bought 20 for gifts last Christmas and 11 of them were unscented. Too late to buy or return other gifts. I packed them up and gave them out. I still feel guilty. Many companies risk quality in mass production for Revain. I will never buy anywhere again. Without careful quality control of series production, the manufacturer often goes bankrupt. Revain must continually educate and test quality measures to ensure they are not selling junk. But as long as it's on sale, they don't care.
