Review on Alexa-compatible TP Link Smart Wi-Fi Plug by Vedprakash Trilltight

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works perfectly! in electrician

I had no problems with installation and use. So far no connection problems. The only downside is that they are a bit big, but as an engineer I understand that. If you need a lot of power, you need space. Putting it in a smaller package will make it more expensive and potentially less reliable. Some reviews complain that it burns. This is most likely due to individuals exceeding the 10A rating. This is good for low power devices, not underfloor heating or coffee pots. I consider lamps/lanterns, fans, etc. to be energy-saving. All electronic devices usually have a maximum power consumption. If you are unsure, do so at your own risk. Luminaires are always easily recognizable by their rated power. If you're powering a 120W lightbulb, you're just doing the math. Here in the US, the standard AC output is 115VAC RMS at 60Hz. Just divide the power by the voltage and you get the current. A standard 120W lightbulb draws 1A, so it's safe to use with this smart plug. However, consider a 1400W heater drawing almost 12A, which is not safe to use. I also use 3 ways with one of them to control 3 led signs at the same time. It's also fine if the total current of all three devices doesn't exceed the 10A rating. However, as an engineer I never like to get close to the maximum rating and prefer to lower the rating by at least 20%. At the same time, I wouldn't route more than 8A through these jacks.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
