The best food my cat loves to eat

I have given other reviews of this company's food products. When I got my new kitten I did a lot of research and the two best brands I could find were Orijen and Wellness. Supposedly the Orijen was better but at the time of my research and as far as I know there was an issue where people were saying the food from the original Canadian facility was excellent but they were building a new facility in Kentucky. I think the food from there is all you can get in the US and people report lethargy, vomiting, dull fur, etc. I then chose Wellness and ate it on Kitten's Chicken Pate. (the only flavor they offer in their entire line) and another brand of kibble that I thought was good but later found out to be pretty crappy. She got to the point where she didn't like pie anymore, so I switched her to the Core turkey-chicken-flavored Kitty line. She started eating again. When she was (1 year old) I had to switch her to adult food. I tried the Core line of adult foods because they are very high quality, but she mostly touched them. She wasted a lot of food. I did an experiment and found that there is only one of her products that she really likes. She likes "turkey slices with gravy". She refused to eat Wellness Core dry food at all. I tried this Wellness Complete Indoor Chicken product because the ingredients, including the chicken fat, are similar to another brand I've given her. I had to mix it heavily with the old food to get her to eat it first, but at the moment to get rid of the bag I mix the old food and the new food 1:4. The lower the ratio, the more "bleach" relates to food. She likes it, she just doesn't fit in. In general, the Core line is better, but my cat didn't like the taste at all. There is also a consistency issue, as more natural ingredients vary in moisture content. The entire line is stable and you get the same texture almost every time. She also likes flavors a lot more. She has also gained a lot of weight due to the fact that her kitten food is very high in fat. She's never been overly "chubby," but she really needs to lose weight. She is a large cat but at 1 year old she weighed 13 pounds 9 ounces. After giving her wet food and this 10% fat kibble, I think she started to lose weight. Within a month she was down to 13 pounds 3 ounces, not an easy feat for her size. It's been a few months and although I won't weigh her at the vet until the end of the month she seems to have lost even more weight. I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Easy maintenance
