Hard shell boots, not waterproof

These are great snow boots - nice and warm and my 4 year old can put them on by himself. The only downside is that the fabric upper isn't waterproof or even water-resistant and the rubber bottom isn't very high. So when we have fresh snowfall I'm more than happy to put them on my kids. Your feet stay warm and dry and you can play for hours. The downsides only show up when the snow starts to melt or we have rainy, slushy sleet like springtime. My oldest decided to jump in the mud during a game at school, when he got home his feet were soaked. The same thing happened after playing in the snow in spring when the bottom few inches were really wet mud and not snow. That wouldn't be a big deal if the boots dried quickly, but without a removable liner you have to toss the whole boot in the dryer and hope. It took several hours in the dryer on low to be mostly dry, and even then fingers stay damp for a while. I love these boots but wish the stitching and upper were waterproof.
