Extremely Conflicting Results

Step on the scale a few times and you'll start to see a pattern. The scale shows a different weight each time. I got readings that ranged from 3 to 12 pounds in either direction. Needless to say, I got very angry. It's impossible to tell how much you weigh. People who rate these scales well either explicitly accept the first result they get or perform a series of complicated mathematical equations to calculate their actual weight. I ended up getting it reading from ONE spot in my living room all the time, and only after placing the scale on a heavy cutting board. In short, it was annoying. I tested the scale for a few minutes after weighing it, wearing the same item, standing in the same spot, and recalibrated. At one point I was holding a heavy stack of books (5 pounds) in my hands and the scale said I was 3 pounds lighter. The scale is actually very accurate when you take it to the space lab and set it on a perfectly level concrete block. Once you get it working, it detects very small deviations like 0.1, 0.2 lbs, but for my purposes it's useless. I just need to know (constantly) if I'm gaining or losing within 1 pound either way. I bought the scale on a friend's recommendation, and when I told him about my many weighing results and wild fluctuations, he did the experiment himself. Guess what he found. the same thing! I immediately returned the item and got my money back. After that I bought a mechanical scale, which is always the same. Oh, and one more thing: pressing to turn on never works properly. You have to stomp it out somehow or get creative. Terrible.
