It took a bit of work to get the printer to recognize the cartridge after it was inserted. Constant error message that the cartridge is "missing or damaged". I found that the chip is covered with a little yellow tape that needs to be removed as well. Tried again and still not recognized. I wanted to quit but turned off the printer instead. When the printer was turned back on a day or two later, there were no problems. I just got a message saying a non-HP cartridge is installed and I just clicked OK and now it's working. After all, this seems to result in very good print quality. The installation alone was a frustrating exercise.
