I already had a table mat for the room atmosphere and it was beige in almost all colors. I ate a lot and drank a lot of coffee on my table so it gets dirty so I decided to buy this as a topper. It's good for making bales, making clay keycaps, etc. It's so easy to clean that even if it gets dirty, it won't be a problem. And when I'm not using it, it also comes with a ribbon that ties the table mat and mouse pad together so it's perfect. Update: Things were going downhill when the table mat actually slipped off and almost fell over on top of the coffee. I got stained on it while working on some things and I needed a cloth, wet wipe, alcohol wipe and chlorox wipe to clean it. So not easy to clean and not slippery, all own tests.
