My 10 year old daughter in 4th grade needed black jazz shoes for the school musical - she only wore them a couple of times so it was perfect for our needs. Her feet are a little smaller than a size 4 shoe, but she likes loose shoes so we ordered a size 4 for the kids after reading they run big (she wanted them loose). They're definitely longer than she needs, but quite narrow. So I agree they are big but not really full size. They have fabric on the bottom so they are a bit slippery (may need to add tape to prevent slipping!). Can't say how durable they are as she hasn't tested them yet.
