Superb leather briefcase at a very competitive price

Appearance I really like the aesthetic design. It's clean, simple, and understated, with no added embellishments, unnecessary seams, or extra compartments. It definitely exudes a professional vibe without being overly stuffy. I'm dark brown, the color of espresso. I think the color is great. It looks great and combined with the design of the case it really combines casual and elegant. Leather scratches and scratches fairly easily, but that's the case with quality leather. Luckily, light scratches and scuffs can easily be rubbed off by hand, and a good conditioner should fix them if they build up badly. Based on some other user feedback, I was a little concerned about color bleed. The first thing I did when I received it was wipe the case thoroughly with a white cloth and there was no paint left on the cloth. And he hasn't dyed my clothes yet or anything. I'm wondering if sweat and/or prolonged rubbing is required to achieve this or if they solved the problem. Strangely, the smell is not as pleasant as most leather products. The reality is that "great leather smell" sounds very ironic, because what you actually smell isn't the skin, it's tanning chemicals, which can be harmful. In any case, the Texbo briefcase does not smell particularly pleasant in my opinion. I don't know if it's good quality, bad quality or indifferent. Construction and Materials The construction appears to be very good. The fit and finish is tight, the seams are nice and straight with no protruding ends. The only exception is the shoulder strap - the seams on this product are misaligned. The skin appears to be real whole grain as advertised. I see small imperfections that have not been sanded down on the natural skin and the finish appears to be stained rather than varnished. So the leather quality seems to be very good. I've seen thicker but it's pretty nice. Mysterious metal hardware with antique brass finish. It is very attractive and gives the impression of being strong. This is definitely a pretty muscular look. But it's hard to tell just by looks. The zip in the main compartment is a really big YKK zip, so that's a good sign. Functional I like functional design best. I prefer the top zip on this case over the large flap on most other briefcases. It's not as weather resistant, but goes in and out of the case much faster. The outside pockets on the sleeves are very useful for things you want to have quick access to - keys, phone, important papers etc. The bag could do with a few more small inside compartments/pockets, another pen loop and a clip for keys. I like the detachable shoulder strap because 90% of the time I don't want it on my suitcase when I'm on the road, but it's nice to be able to carry the suitcase hands-free when traveling. The carrying handle is very convenient. I don't know about the shoulder strap. It's not very thick so my expectations aren't high. My biggest complaint is that the laptop compartment is poorly designed. The sleeve is too big. Even laptops from 20 years ago were thinner than this, and the modern laptop is clearly up its sleeve. There's no good reason for that, plus I think you can put a book in there instead of a laptop. In addition, the Velcro fastening strap is designed for larger laptops. It doesn't do its job of holding on a smaller laptop. If they added Velcro to the longer part of the strap it wouldn't be a problem, but they didn't. All of this to say that my laptop actually stays in place pretty well, mostly thanks to the other items I carry with me, so it wasn't really a problem for me. But the entire laptop compartment could be greatly improved with a redesign. I should also mention that the laptop compartment is also very light. It doesn't bother me much as the leather case itself offers good protection. However, if you're expecting a padded laptop compartment, this isn't the case. Conclusion Overall I am very satisfied with this portfolio. It is functional, beautiful and well made. I have a few improvements that I would like, but they are rather minor. And for what you get, the price is great. The big open question for me at the moment is durability. As for the skin, I'm sure. But only time will tell the finish, zipper, hardware and stitching. I'll update my review if it gets bad.

Pros
  • SIMPLE BUT FUNCTIONAL: Top zipper design better protects your valuables, Side pocket with magnetic button provides quick access to small items. Main compartment for 16" laptop, padded compartment for 15.6" laptop. In the wallet it is better to distinguish another object.
Cons
  • sad packaging
