Too tall for everyday use but has some performance boost
It's too long for everyday HT use (and could easily damage the SMA mount otherwise), but it has the VHF performance you want would expect. I doubt this is of any value for UHF. However, if you're in field station mode on VHF, or in the outback trying to set up a simplex in your base, or just need some extra range from your favorite repeater, this offers the opportunity. The SWR was pretty good, by the way, as you would expect for this type of device.
