significant research and discussion for my Canon 70D. I needed an effective wide angle range on a crop sensor body. It's a big lens with big filter requirements (82mm) and it's quite heavy. This wasn't a problem for me as I didn't have a lot of money for a different size filter, although I knew the filters I needed would cost a bit more. I also had no trouble carrying it while hiking with the battery grip attached to the case. Pros: - The image quality is excellent. Any vignetting or distortion is easily removed with Lightroom presets if needed - Ζ/2.8 not usually needed for landscapes, sometimes needed and offers flexibility - It feels solid and well built - A lens hood is included Cons: - It is heavy but with glass needed to provide Ζ/2.8 I don't attach too much importance to this point (pun intended) - the AF/MF transition is undoubtedly unique, clunky even until you get used to it - the autofocus is not as responsive as the Canon 10-22mm, but for my purposes I don't need fast autofocus - the focus motor is louder than the Canon's USM motor (more of a nitpick again) Overall I'm very happy with the performance of this lens. It serves the purpose I intended for it perfectly and if you don't need the extra 3mm range that the Canon 10-22mm offers at the expense of the aperture then I think this lens will serve you just as well. I have attached some photos taken with this lens for your enjoyment.
