This is the perfect size for trips abroad. I was able to carry my kids and my kid's passports, international driver's licenses, museum tickets, and a few other essentials with me in a convenient, space-saving manner (lip balm, ID/credit cards, over-the-counter drugs, prescription drugs, wipes, etc.). The lockable zippers were a nice added security feature. I never had any problems abroad (in England and France) but I also kept my purse in front of me and held it with my hand when I was in busy places and when we were approached by several scammers in France. It was a bit of a hassle to open for a security check but I didn't mind, and neither did a security guard. In fact, several guards were impressed and said that they had never seen a wallet like this and that it would be nice to have one. It's definitely fit for purpose with its fabric, but it wasn't a big deal to me. It was "cute enough" for what I needed and felt completely safe with it during our 10 day trip. I've even used it a few times since we got home because I love the size and the multiple pockets. You can also see everything down to the bottom of the bag with the tiny flashlight.
