This children's goal is at the bottom of the stairs in my father-in-law's house. U-bolts are perfect for this! Looks actually quite nice, much better than the cheap wooden ones. I love how easy it is to use and how strong the gate is with pressurized fasteners. It can easily hold my 20 lb 29.5 inch child. We don't let him put his full weight on the trellis, of course, but it's strong enough to hold him when he reaches the stairs before an adult can catch him. I also like that it's an auto-closing gate that's easy to open from either side.
