I noticed that many other reviews mention that they can't go out when the weather is bad. That's absolutely right, they must be under some kind of cover. So if you're planning on keeping it outside without a weather cover, that won't work. Ideal for use in a shed or workshop. They are made of a polyester shell with some kind of reinforcement and insulating material inside. They are very easy to assemble and the heating pad feels soft and effective. The photo shows that Smokey is very happy to stay in the one I put in the workshop. minuses. The doors are pretty thin. I put on the back and leave the front. Cats can be smart enough to figure out how to get in with that crappy plastic cover over the door. I also wish the power cord was a bit longer, it can be tricky to position this thing with a heating pad because the cord just really isn't long enough.
