Better than Magna-Tiles and Shape-Mags!

Let me first say that I am not receiving any compensation for this review. I'm writing this because I'm having a really hard time deciding what to buy due to all the conflicting reviews from different brands. I hope this helps some parents decide. I currently have 4 different sets of magnetic tile toys: - A set of 32 Shape Mags (purchased December 2016) - 2 Shape Mags 12X12 Stabilizers (purchased March 2017) - 100 + 18 pieces. Playmag set. (Purchased March 2017) - 8 Magna Tiles. (Bought March 2017) Our first set consisted of 32 Shape Mags. I put it on my kids (4 and 2 year olds) wish list for Christmas. They liked it! Even after 3 months they still enjoyed playing with it when most of the other Christmas presents had been forgotten. The only problem was that the 32 piece set was too small for two children. After a long research I decided to buy the other 3 sets at the same time. There were mixed reviews on Playmags so I opened up the set and checked out the details before showing it to the kids. You were wonderful! The plastic is strong and the magnets are strong. They may have fixed the issues that were causing the bad reviews. The PricePlaymags set of 100 items and 18 clicks (non-magnetic) is $69.99. A 120-piece Shape Mags set with 16 fences and two-person figures is $69.99. A 100-piece Magna Tiles set costs $119.99. Magnet StrengthPlaymags wins hands down. One review said the magnets are too strong and cause pinching. Even my 2 year old had no problems with it. Magna-Tiles and Shape Mags have the same magnet strength. Both are suitable for building tall structures. Playmags just stick together better. ColorPlaymags and Shape Mags share the same bright colors. The colors of the Magna tiles are slightly muted. I prefer lighter colors but that's just my opinion Compatibility The kits go well together Conclusion 1st place: Playmags Price is comparable to Shape Mags. The magnets are stronger, which makes the structures more durable. I prefer lighter colors. 2nd place: ShapeMags. The magnets aren't that strong, but still strong enough to do whatever your child imagines. Stabilizers are a great addition. I highly recommend them to complete any set. If you really want the originals and are willing to pay an extra $50 for a 100-piece set, by all means buy Magna-Tiles. Otherwise I see no reason to pay more. Shape Mags have the same quality and magnetic power. Playmag magnets are significantly stronger. I plan to keep all 4 sets. If I buy another set for a gift, I'll buy Playmags.
