I have well water with a high ferrous sulphate content. The only water not only turns your clothes (or in this case your shower) orange, but also gives off a "rotten egg" smell. When hot water turns into gas, it gives off a strong smell of sulfur. I got nauseous when I showered. This filter not only eliminates sulfur odor, it also helps filter and soften the water so my shampoo, conditioner and shower gel work more effectively. The filters don't last as long as I would hope, but they probably last a decent amount of time for the amount of material they filter out of my water. All filters I've bought that are similar to this one last about the same. This is one of the cheapest brands but they are of the same quality as the others. This is my second time buying them and I am sure I will buy more.
