I'm not a music connoisseur, but I don't mind the sound too much. It's not just the subway where there isn't adequate volume reserve. Con: At first inspection, the quality of the construction seems satisfactory. However, after only a few months, the headphones' rubber earcups began to separate. One of the headphones just had its wire snap. While I had no problems with prolonged headphone use, I found that using them while running or working out was a major inconvenience.
