After looking at a few waterproof cameras I decided to take a chance and buy this one as it was cheap and seemed ok and being a Nikon I went I take the risk. When the camera arrived I saw that it was really cheaply made: all plastic, not as much room for camera adjustments as other top models. One thing that really bothered me (as soon as I got the camera) is the way the battery is charged: you have to open the battery cover underneath the camera and plug in the USB cable while the battery compartment is open during the loading process remains open! As this is a chamber that must be sealed (to be watertight) this door should be treated with care and leaving it open for several hours to charge the battery is problematic in my opinion. I have kids and at some point they would run to the camera or try to get it and I was afraid that it would just break and then the whole purpose of the camera would go away. Then we took a trip to the beach and I began to understand something else. problems in the camera: it took a long time to focus and then release the shutter several times. ie I lost a few moments of my children because the camera just didn't take a picture. This was very bad for me and made me angry. Why do I need a camera that doesn't click the picture when I need it? Also, there is a large delay after you press the record button to start capturing video. about 1-2 seconds. So if you want to film something, prepare beforehand, otherwise you will lose the beginning of the video clip. After I came back from the trip and looked at the pictures on the computer, I realized that the audio of the video is terrible! Under water I could understand - and didn't care - but for filming video in a dry scenario I expected decent/medium audio but it was all muffled! For these reasons I decided to return this (cheap) camera and invest some money and get something better. If that doesn't bother you, then do it. The positive aspect of this camera is that the image quality is good, especially if you are spending a weekend at the beach or by the pool. video is good too. So I decided to give 2 stars for image quality.
