These 8" boxes are very pretty and are perfect for a two tier cake. I made a 3 layer chocolate cake (each layer was 1.25 inches high) and after topping it with frosting and putting some roses on top I couldn't close the lid all the way without breaking the roses. I'll keep this in mind and stick with 2-layer cakes or 3-layer cakes without decorations on top that add height. Also, another problem is that during assembly, the sides of the box are pushed in and dig into the sides of the cake. I fixed this by putting some masking tape on each side of the box to keep them off the cake. I am completely satisfied with the box. (I haven't used any ammo yet.)
