I bought the Feiyu G6 kit to use with GoPro Hero7. I bought on recommendation from friends who use the G5 so the G6 should only be better right? Read on to find out what I found. My friend demonstrated to me that the G5 keeps the camera straight by moving his hand in a wide arc, which is exactly what I needed for my application. When trying to use the Feiyu G6, I quickly found that the Feiyu G6's gimbal would not hold the camera straight in a head-to-toe arc. That's what I mean. To perform this move, extend your arm straight out to the side at a 90-degree angle with the gimbal handle in line with your arm and the camera facing forward, then rotate your arm toward you Shoulder to turn the camera from your foot to your head along with camera. always facing forward. The gimbal does not hold the camera straight in this 180 degree arc. In fact, at some point it starts to tumble, moving from all directions. On closer inspection you can see that the mechanical design prevents the kind of movement I desire. The stabilizer is designed for vertical hold only and allows only slight lateral movements. This 180-degree camera-level stabilization is fundamental to my use of the gimbal, and I'm shocked that the Feiyu G6 can't do that. You need a stabilizer to do 1-axis stabilization as the Hero7 itself has excellent internal stabilization and really negates the need for an external stabilizer except for maintaining flatness as I get with this 180 degree bow described. The G5V2 is still available and I will try it and let you guys know how it handles that 180 degree arc on the product overview page.
