And that's great, as there's less chance of accidental alarms when your pockets are full or something is set on the remote. Since I just received it, I can't tell if its entrails might fall out if it falls. I thought of that first because there was no reassuring click when I squeezed it. However, it seems secure, and when I forgot the metal contact for the battery's positive terminal, I had to open it back up to insert it. It was just as difficult as the original to reopen. So I can say it seems to be holding up pretty well. Time will tell but for the price I can afford the risk. Update: After 7 months I can say it's not as strong as an OEM unit. I cracked the front between the buttons. World Wide Remotes makes painted blocks that hold up better.
