When I received the case, it had a nice matte finish and looked very nice. but I didn't expect the apple icon to be cut out. I want to protect the reflective surface of the Apple icon on my computer, but that's not an option in this case. Also, I fear that there are now crumbs and dirt between the case and the computer. Also, my butt was misshaped, leaving a big bulky area sticking out that attracts even more stuff. get under the hull. I'll look elsewhere for a new case that protects more in the long run, but so far so good.
