My first feedback on this item is yes, it has a large capacity. But the data is transferred VERY SLOWLY. I mean it seriously makes you reconsider your purchase because of the low data rate. This is by no means a true USB 3.0 or higher. I'm transferring less than 500GB and it was originally quoted as 19 hours for the transfer, which was yesterday afternoon. Today, looking at the status, only 20% has been transferred and it continues at 111/kbps! Yes it's cheap, yes it has a large capacity, but at this data rate I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a lot of free time. Just choose Sandisk or any other reputable company and enjoy large capacity and good transfer speeds. As they say, "Time is money," and when you just think about it, it's like throwing money into a fire to light it. I downgraded it to 1 star and would actually go lower in my opinion. So, after three days of 500GB data transfer, none of the files can be read and now the drive will not mount. An absolute waste of money and I recommend everyone to buy one of these. I will not return, but I will go through the process of complete destruction (because there may still be information about it). In my opinion, DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS DRIVE!
