Well I would give 5 stars, but not because it was like that. I thought there were no instructions and tried to assemble it myself and it made no sense. I even initiated the return process. Then I noticed the zipper at the bottom and accidentally unzipped it to see if that would help me understand better, and boom! There were instructions. I thought it would be really weird to put instructions where you wouldn't think to look for them. Not to mention that the first step was to unbox the chairs. How would you know that without instructions. This really pissed me off because I loved the chairs. I liked them when I put them together and they look great in my kitchen. But I almost had to send them back. Maybe enough people will complain and put the instructions in the box instead of the chairs.
