I love the way it looks, I've been looking for a cat bed that doesn't have that flashy print you always see. I read all the reviews and thought my big boy might fit. It will probably "fit" but be very uncomfortable to look at. now he is 13 pounds. he never slept in it. My little 10.5 comes in and snuggles up in the winter. I gave another. They are adorable to look at and well preserved. I measured both of mine. None of them have an 18" base and this one was shot from below at its widest point. They barely reach 17 inches, and if you flip it over, the base is even smaller than 17 inches. Probably best for smaller cats or kittens.
