You get what you pay for when it comes to kvm

After trying various kvm switches that claimed to have a copy of edid, this is the only one I got. I have a multi monitor setup for work and only need one display to switch for my single display hosts like my personal laptop and raspberry pi. The other kvm switches wreaked havoc on my multi-monitor setup every time I switched because they didn't send a screen emulation signal to all connected hosts, so the switch essentially unplugged and plugged the display back in. This KVM switch seems to get it right. It's great and looks like one of the few that has USB 3.0 and audio jacks. Looks sturdy but I won't do quality control to find out how durable it is. It's also larger than I expected, around 11cm x 4cm x 28cm. Also works with my Logitech gaming keyboard, which I've also had issues with on other switches. I wish it had threaded holes on the side for under-desk mounting and the audio-out jacks were on the front (having them on the back where hard to reach doesn't make sense to me).

Pros
  • Ultra HD 4K 60Hz and Auto EDID Switches: compatible with resolutions up to Ultra HD 4K 60Hz with HDR and 18Gbps video bandwidth. Enables automatic edid detection for easy display detection
Cons
  • Not bad
