For now I'm only giving two stars and it's not that I hate it, I just can't hear it! I've only had one other MP3 player before, and it was one of those regular $5 players. It worked well and the sound was ok but finding and accessing the song was a nightmare so I decided to switch to another one with a better screen and menu. I chose the SanDisk Clip Sport because it looked bigger and had a decent screen, and some of the reviews I read said the menus were well done. In that respect I agree. It turned out to be a lot smaller than I expected but the screen was still good, the menu works fine and not at all like my crappy old one. So I loaded it with a variety of music and tried to listen and heard almost nothing. I think, okay, the volume needs to be cranked up, so I find the volume controls and find to my great annoyance that there is no volume control. You only get two presets: Normal and High. It didn't make me very happy, but I thought, okay, the normal audio is really low anyway, so let's turn it up. It rose only a fraction. In normal mode, I have to strain to hear a few tones. On high, I can hear all the tones, but they're almost drowned out by the hum of my air conditioner. I don't understand how anyone can use this thing during training, the sound of his own breathing will drown out the music! And I'm not exaggerating here, I'm speaking literally, to the point where I'm seriously wondering if I got the wrong one. I'm one of those people who almost never give back, and I'm seriously considering giving this thing back. If I could hear it, I would be happy. Everything I hated about my old MP3 player is no problem with this one, I just can't hear anything which pretty much defeats the purpose. I would be happy.
