After a single wash (prewash recommended), these duvets are very soft. A blend of 70% bamboo viscose and 30% cotton feels softer than similar 100% bamboo muslin comforters I have. The seams on the washcloths came undone after only 3 washes but the duvets are sturdy for the price. the quality is sufficient. Some other reviews say they are too thin and don't keep baby warm. If you're unfamiliar with the texture of muslin, it's essentially two thin layers of gauze woven together. I live in Southern California and my baby already tends to get warm so I usually put him in a diaper and one of these blankets. This facilitates skin-to-skin time and quick diaper changes. If he's just napping, you can wrap him in one of these blankets (or two if it's really cold). If you live in a colder climate, you might like them better than burp cloths, belly blankets, stroller umbrellas, or nursing blankets. they are not transparent enough to provide adequate protection. Overall this is a great purchase for me and I would recommend it but the smaller fabrics didn't last.
