Many years ago I had a butter nugget and our cat threw it off the table and I have never replaced it. The cat left, but not before knocking the microwave off the shelf. We've replaced the microwave, so it's time to replace the butter dome too. I buy butter in two-pound blocks, so I just cut off a few pieces and press them into a bell. Pour some cold water on the plate, turn the lid over and you have fresh butter on the table. We live in Florida and this bell keeps the butter at the perfect consistency. I have to change the oil about once a week and have never had bad oil. Since both parts are made of ceramic, they are easy to clean. I never want to be without this indispensable utensil ever again.
