Review on Acuvar 50-Inch Aluminum Camera Tripod: Sturdy and Versatile by Sam Pullen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for light use

I needed something light, cheap and fast and it was just the thing. An example of what you get for what you pay for, which in this case isn't much. I don't blame it for that as I didn't expect it to be a great device and it isn't. The reason 3 stars rather than 5 lives up to that expectation is because I don't want anyone to think this is a great tripod. It's mostly adjustable and if you have the time and patience it will get the job done, but that's about it. Pros: Very light Nothing broke or malfunctioned Works with my iPhone 7 without Otterbox [too tight on it] Cons: Can be tricky to adjust as the legs don't slide out easily. It can be difficult to hold the phone at a right angle as the top doesn't clamp tight and the sides aren't parallel (although I finally managed to sit appropriately) Unreliable in a critical situation. The slightest push or draft could blow it away. All in all it was sufficient for my needs as I had it shipped to a remote location and only used it for vlogging. But other than that, I'm glad I have a real tripod.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Functionality

Tentative recommendation, lightness may be a selling point but has it's downfalls
