I needed Christmas lights that would go well with the wreath I am hanging high on the wall in a large vaulted room. I didn't want the extension cord going up the wall so I had to run on battery power. Since it's so high I didn't need anything to turn on and off either, so this string of lights worked well since it had a timer. The lights have different settings. So if you prefer them to blink fast, slow or not at all, you can set them that way. I prefer the last of the 3 settings. The timer is very easy to set if you count correctly :o) Setting 1: 4 hours on/20 hours off. Setting 2: 6 hours on/18 hours off and Setting 3: 8 hours on/16 hours off. . They require 2C batteries. The LED lights are nice and bright but don't have that piercing LED that I've seen with other string lights. I bought 2 sets of 35 because this wreath is about 42 inches in diameter. I am very satisfied, especially for the price. Thank you Revan
