This is the first product of this type that I have bought. It's pretty handy and does a great job of getting the desired result from my freehand attempts (and frequent failures). I've been using the template every time I've shaved for the past few weeks and I'm happy with the symmetry and regular shape of my facial hair. However, the template has several disadvantages. 1 users are limited to the goatee shape. Before using the product, my beard had a different shape. All three guides in my template are set to the maximum setting, but the template doesn't match the shape of how I shaped my beard before using the product. 2 pattern is not fixed after installing the guides. Users should be aware of the inadvertent adjustment of the three guidance settings during normal day-to-day use. 3-Pattern cannot be designed for every face shape. The template doesn't fit my chin as snugly as it does my face. I still have to be careful when shaving under my chin to avoid deforming my goatee. Despite the design flaws, this is still a great product and a big step up from my attempts to get satisfactory results without a template. I am happy with my purchase and would buy the product again.
