Review on New Balance Womens 840V4 Running Women's Shoes by Seth Gibbons

I've tried several different New Balance boots so far. This model is a winner for my feet with medium arches, narrow heels and moderate bursitis. Nice dark blue colour, wide toe box, nice material in the upper if you need to stretch the bursitis a bit. There is very little difference between a size 9 and a size 9.5 so probably go up a size for a little more room as most people tend to buy shoes that are too small for their feet. The only problem was that I noticed my left big toe snagged a bit when I went to a size 9.5. There was enough space between the tip of the toe and the end of the boot. Upon examining the shoe, I found that the rubber bumper that protruded about 1 inch from the front to the rear was not properly attached/glued to the inside of this shoe. Instead of being smooth like the proper boot, it had big ripples/waves that pushed it towards the toe box and kept hooking my toe. In my experience items returned as defective are simply recycled (returned for sale) so anyone buying a size 9.5 in navy looks to the left boot! Edit - I've ordered a replacement pair in the same size/color hoping a manufacturing defect was an accident, but had the same issue (though not as bad) on a new pair. Same size 9 shoe, wide navy, has no problem. The gray version I ordered (very nice color!) has an issue with the 9.5 wide pair but not the 9.5 wide so I think it's a very good fit - if you use them like enough, you might have to keep trying until you get a good pair. .
